A note from Pastor Cindy, recently found in Peru.

Have you ever passed through a time that you were confused and sad and lonely?  Have you passed through a time when you were so tired your body ached and all you longed to do was sleep?  A time when, once it was over, you felt like saying - no, you absolutely had to say - ‘Hello, Me!  Welcome back!’  Of course you have.  I do not know what your time looked like. But this is what mine looked like.

Lent and Babies

Navigating the season of Lent is a lot like raising a newborn baby. Whether through the discipline of confession or the bubbling up of selfishness during another midnight feeding, they each have a way of making me notice my own brokenness. Lent and fatherhood both ask me to introduce new rhythms into my life that steer me out of my comfortable ruts. I can’t look at my daughter or focus on what Jesus did on the cross without recognizing my own dependence upon my heavenly Father.

A neighbor introduced me to fresh kale this summer.  I ate it for the first time and experimented with it drying in the oven. Not bad.

A month or so ago I discovered Brad’s Ray Leafy Kale at King Soopers.  Hmm, let’s give it a try.  Yummy!

Shared some with a friend.  She loved it, so I bought her a box and several more for myself.

Gave a box to my trainer: Mr. Skeptic.  Won over after one day.  “Can we buy a case.”

She is sitting in front of a Christmas tree and her blonde hair is pulled into a ponytail on the top of her head.  She is struggling with a sniffley nose in a very cute, six-year old way.  It is hard to know what she had been singing before the video clip begins but she is ready to continue with another song.  She says, “This is one you know.”  It is absolutely precious, her assurance to the cameraman that he will know the song she is about to begin. &nbsp
